I introduced the idea of colour theory to my grades 3-6s by showing them the website Adobe Color at http://color.adobe.com
We explored the website and the various colour rules. I then got them to create their own colour swatch by creating their own colour theme and then writing down the RGB values of each one.
From there I had a file ready for them to open in Adobe Illustrator where they had to fill in the boxes with their colours and give it a name. The final result is what you see below.
